Haringey Man and Van Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Haringey Man and Van is taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We recognise that the transport and logistics sector can be exposed to labour exploitation risks, and we are committed to conducting business ethically and responsibly.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Haringey Man and Van has a clear zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and child labour. We do not tolerate any practice that is inconsistent with fundamental human rights and we expect the same high standards from everyone we work with. This policy applies to all directors, employees, agency workers, contractors, and suppliers engaged in providing goods or services to our business.
We are committed to acting with integrity in all our business dealings and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place within our own operations or any part of our supply chains.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Haringey Man and Van provides local and regional man and van services, including residential and commercial moves, collections, and deliveries. Our supply chains include vehicle leasing and maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, equipment and packaging providers, recruitment partners, and occasional subcontracted transport services.
We recognise that the risk of modern slavery can be higher in certain sectors and geographies. Accordingly, we focus our efforts on those areas of our supply chain that present elevated risk, including the use of temporary labour and outsourced logistics services.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We expect our suppliers and subcontractors to uphold the same standards that we apply to ourselves. As part of our procurement and onboarding processes, we assess suppliers on their labour practices and commitment to preventing modern slavery. We reserve the right to decline or terminate relationships with any supplier that does not meet our requirements.
Haringey Man and Van is introducing proportionate supplier audits and checks, prioritising higher-risk categories such as labour providers and transport subcontractors. These audits may include reviews of policies, right-to-work documentation, worker contracts, and wage records. Where issues are identified, we will seek corrective action plans within clear timescales. If serious or persistent non-compliance occurs, we will consider suspension or termination of the business relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
We encourage anyone connected with Haringey Man and Van, including employees, workers, suppliers, and members of the public, to raise concerns about possible modern slavery or unethical labour practices. Concerns can be raised directly with management or through our internal reporting routes. Reports can be made anonymously where requested, and we will not tolerate any form of victimisation or retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith.
All allegations or suspicions of modern slavery will be treated seriously and investigated promptly and impartially. Where appropriate, we will involve relevant external authorities or agencies and will cooperate fully with any official investigation.
Training and Awareness
We are working to build awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff, particularly those involved in recruitment, supplier management, and day-to-day supervision of workers. Training and guidance will focus on recognising indicators of exploitation, understanding reporting routes, and applying our zero-tolerance policy in practice.
We also expect managers to lead by example and ensure that all workers engaged in our operations are treated with dignity, paid fairly, and employed under lawful terms and conditions.
Monitoring, Governance and Annual Review
Responsibility for overseeing our modern slavery approach rests with senior management. We monitor the effectiveness of our measures by tracking reported concerns, audit findings, and supplier performance. Lessons learned from incidents or near-misses are used to improve our procedures and controls.
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed annually to ensure it remains current, effective, and aligned with best practice and legal requirements. As our business and supply chains evolve, we will refine our risk assessments, strengthen our audits, and update our training and policies. The updated statement will reflect progress made, actions taken, and further steps planned to reduce the risk of modern slavery in every aspect of Haringey Man and Van operations.
